The New Hardy Players helped Matt Worth make a sponsored trek in support of Amnesty International. The players  put on a very special performance of Thomas Hardy's work along with that from some other Dorset Voices, old and new. Sincere thanks to everyone who helped.

This is what two kind viewers said about "Hardy On-line". "We have just watched the Hardy on-line with the New Hardy Players. What a thoroughly enjoyable 1 and a half hours! We particularly enjoyed 'The Tolpuddle story' and 'I before 'e', the 'Tyneham tale' and 'The Secrets Out'. Also loved Linden Lea and the musical pieces. Because we cannot get out in the evenings it was wonderful to view on-line and be part of the performance. Well done and thank you all. We enclose our donation for Amnesty International".

Message from Matt Worth.

Hi There!
In 2008 I made a trek up to Macchu Piccu with Team Amnesty to (raise around £2750 for Amnesty International, and I really appreciate the donations made by those who sponsored me through this website. If you did then you helped to support an organisation of singular importance that has a universal vision... Human Rights for everyone. Human rights mean a lot of things to a lot of people but for me Human rights is an issue that all boils down to one simple idea, and thats decency..Of course, like everything else in this world they are fallible and fragile concepts and without the political will to demand that these standards are facilitated and maintained then they are easily forgotten and easily violated. Thats why Amnesty is so important, because they are willing and able to stand up to violations and as result prevent these rights being forgotten

The Universal Declaration of Human Rights and subsequent human rights legislation are simply an attempt to define and set the standards for a decent society. One where people enjoy the right to life, liberty and security of the person (Article 5); where all are equal and entitled to equal protection before the law (Article 7); where everyone has a standard of living and health care adequate for their health & well being (Article 25)a

I hope that you'll put a little money down to help Amnesty.

Many thanks for your support.
