There are many reasons why members of the New Hardy Players give their time so freely. All have equal importance and include: A love of Thomas Hardy's work; to celebrate Dorset culture and literature; enjoy the company of like minded and stimulating people; have a platform for their own writing and desire to perform.
To make it all really worthwhile, since their formation in 2005, the New Hardy Players have raised more than £19,000 for the Weldmar Hospicecare Trust from their summer productions, and £9000 for local charities from their programme of ‘Dorset Voices.’
